Also known as the camels' hideout, Jebel Akhdar, (Arabic: الجبل الأخضر meaning The Green Mountain) is part of the Al Hajar Mountains range in Oman, which extends about 300 km (186 mi) northwest to southeast, between 50-100 km (31-62 mi) inland from the Gulf of Oman coast. It is one of Oman’s most spectacular areas.

It's truly difficult to capture the beauty of of this mountain...

You really need to compare it to the desolate desert it is surrounded by to truly appreciate the area.

little girl

This girl must find the western tourist that come here pretty interesting because she watched us for a very long time.
Stopping to smell the flowers

In such a desolate desert it's amazing to find such flowers blooming wild.

In my family we have a tradition that no vacation photo album is complete unless it ends with photographs of at least one sunset. When you've got a view like that, and you're there at the right time of day, the results cannot possibly suck.
