Regular Animal Documentation by Sean Mahan, qwerty uiop, Ian Kizu-Blair, Emily Passerine
November 3rd, 2005 4:09 PM / Location: 41.799024,-87.59971As for the video, it was made in Chicago, at Ian and my old apartment - which, incidentally, was a dirt-cheap palace compared to our place in this far less hardcore city. Tarden and Ian (in particular) had a game were Tarden would run into Ian's room, Ian would pick him up, run into the living room, and toss him onto the couch. Then they'd race back into Ian's room, where Tarden would sit looking at Ian until he ran and tossed him again. Now, I realize that everyone thinks their cat is unique and "quirky", but come on! Tossing? As a game? That Tarden invented?! Anyway, Emily and I documented the tossing, added some super-cool lightning effects, and then made music to go along with it. Enjoy, and don't call the ASPCA on us!

He's a "he" named "Tarden" (the name's from a book called "Cockpit"). He's a quirky guy; he just likes going in the fridge. And no, we haven't opened him, but his fridge habit does prevents him from getting moldy, y'know?
I really like the pictures of the cat in the refrigerator, wasn't him very cold there?
He likes the refrigerator - when we open the door, sometimes he just jumps in!
I can see he likes the fridge, but are you absolutely positive he likes being tossed?
Yeah, in Chicago Tarden and I used to play a game where I would pick him up and throw him onto the couch in the living room, and then he would sprint back into my room and jump onto the bed and wait to be thrown again. I think the longest we ever played was about half-an-hour, and it was me who got bored of it, not him.
I don't think either Sean or I have missed a toss yet, so he doesn't have any negative associations with it.
Uh, yeah, ditto that bit about rent in Chicago. I've got less space now in my 1BR here in SF than I did in my 1BR in Chicago, and I'm paying... 250% more! Awesome. And by "awesome" I mean "what the hell."
Then again, in Chicago I was 10 miles from downtown, here I'm 4 or 5 miles. 10 miles from downtown here is over by the zoo.
But still, 250%!!
my cats have been intrigued by the fridge, but never brave enough to jump in!
same here with the Chicago->SF rent situation. I'm paying $100 more now and I'm out a bathroom, a living room, a dining room, a second bedroom, a fireplace, a parking spot, a pool, etc... but damn if I don't have a much better view..
My kitty Stranger loved jumping into the freezer, then he'd get all flustered and jump out. Ironic, considering.
... the alien space-monkey cat, Link, likes being picked up and shaken... he might enjoy being tossed...
is the changing surroundings; It actually looks as though Ian and Sean are opening and closing the fridge, retrieving and replacing food, all the while Tarden being completely satisfied.
who's the cute chilly kitty?
did you open her, so now you have to refrigerate her?
