This task is retired.

I'd be more interested in the granter side. +2

Any one feel like they have a want so vast as to be willing to fold 1000 cranes to get it? Perhaps more realistically, something that you and nine of your friends want, each to the tune of 100 cranes?

I would totally be up for co-wishing, if you're interested.

Does that mean 500 each? Or 1,000 each and two wishes? And if it's just Waldo doing the granting then I'd guess if he wound up with 2,000 cranes, he'd be honor-bound to grant two wishes, right?

Well, 1000/N each if N of us all wish for the same thing, but otherwise 1000 each. Of course, we would be wise to compare wishes before folding too many.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the rule would be one wish per thousand cranes.

Note that it is not specified what to do with all the cranes. Perhaps there might be something cooler than just handing them over to the wish granter.

You could burn the cranes afterward and meditate on the transience of desires.

Or use them as a stand-in for a curtain. Tough choice.

I'd have to go with curtains... although I do like fire. ~Waldo

I am also considering this option, as fitting tribute to the effort it takes to make so many cranes. I can't imagine where that'd be suitable garb outside of Burning Man.

On an unrelated note, this is the first that I have noticed all of these new comments. My first thought was "ohgodwhathaveidone." My second thought was "hey, neat, multiple people think I'm worth it. Maybe I can be the wish-giver of SF0." This was followed by several variants on thought one. Finally I thought, "well, at least after forgetting about this for several months, it only sounds like one other person is liable to come-a-knocking for a wish. I could've stumbled onto a 28-man discussion group of who was wishing for what."

This'll be fun.

I imagine that wearing nothing but 1000 paper cranes would be suitable garb for quite a few non-rainy occasion. Guess we better get folding.

Lets L0 and collaborate

I've always thought the coolest part f the TED awards would be working on making the wish come true. Waldo, could you use another player to help with the granting?
