Anyone else doing this today? I'd be glad to add you as a collaborator. Some big collaborated tasking.

I'd totally do this task, but the only slight complication that might arise is the fact that I'm not old enough to vote. XD

New Elections

The most common response Tac, Peter, and I received when telling people about what we did, was the concern that photographing inside the polling place was illegal. Well, that is not true, but somehow the auspices of the federal government, like with airport security mandates, has created a culture of fear and compliance with unexplained rules and inexplicable systems behind closed doors. Well, I am proud to say America is taking back our polling places culturally this election cycle, and hopefully a step back towards freedom and a sense of public liberty:

Same thing happened to me. I thought about it, too. But then I was like, "naw, they retired that long ago." Damnit.

I was going to tell them to "Vote None of the Above."

My Mom and I got into a huge political discussion on Sunday (Usually a big no no. She is a staunch Republican and I am a staunch Independent.) and at the end of it we both agreed that the best course would have been to have a campaign urging people to vote 'No confidence.' It would be nice to think that if enough people did that it would spark some sort of political reform, but that would be a pipe dream.

On the other hand, as far as McCain is concerned, anyone who uses the phrase 'My friends' that often makes me think of shadowy figures in alleys with crowbars in hand adding that 'Mr. Marconi is *very* upset with you and would like to have a talk.'

We will have to see.

I like your allusions to gangsters. God knows the affiliates of politicians are much worse and just as dangerous. I would vote 'No confidence', but Richard Pryor told me to vote 'None of the Above' so I must honor him.

But in reality I voted independent, green, and libertarian, so no matter who got in office, I could say I didn't vote for them. Unless of course everyone else voted for Nader, which I could see they didn't.

February 5, 2008 the Gonzalez: I thought best to keep this short and simple. I can deal with stern looks from old ladies, but getting too big might get my message removed. My polling place didn't have booths, just slightly partitioned podiums. ...

Student Elections at Berkeley are a fairly big deal, at least to the extent that the main plaza is filled with people who want you to vote for them. So I couldn't wait to do this task. Especially because I have way too many post-it notes right now. ...

I did this task on election day for the sheer joy of it and in the pure hope it would be added—and I checked the task list that morning I swear it wasn't there—or that I'd be able to talk someone into adding it back. Well, my faith was rewarded ...
