Shifting Medium by B 9, Captain Fluffyfart

February 27th, 2009 1:32 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Create graffiti in an unusual medium.

So we started this under the unusual edition, but we discovered (were told) it would be a mucho better fit under this task. I had to heartily agree. Especially considering this is called light GRAFFITI! Haha! It's a perfect fit! Light graffiti is also wonderfully time consuming and has a delicious learning curve considering you can't see what you're doing.  Ya know, in case any of our fellow SF0ers want to try it out.  Right, well then, I present for your voting pleasure "Light Beer"

Our Lager, which art in barrels
Hallowed be thy drink,
Thy will be drunk, (I will be drunk)
At home as it is in Tavern,
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spilleth against us,
And lead us not into incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers,
For thine is the beer, the bitter, the lager
Barmen

Ah, also, lest you think us lazy you will be delighted to see that we have brought about a new Unusual Edition.  This time much more book like... It's up now, take a look.

How do you do light graffiti? How does it work?

EDIT--The below comment pertains to the original submission of this task under unusual edition.

I think that is done with light grafitti. That is an unusual medium... I am unclear whether that makes it a book...

I would have no reservations about a five point vote if he made a little book of mirrors, and took pictures of each of these in the reflection of subsequent pages. Right now, I need to think more on whether this qualifies as a book.

EDIT -- Cool alternate medium. I'm thinking a four-point vote now, as it is well done, but not a fully-realized version of itself. No beer props or beer-related backdrop for the work, and this sort of trick photography lends itself to potentially more visual creativity. A strong early praxis, and an good example of how to run with a concept.
