Missive From Strangers From Friends by zer0gee
November 30th, 2008 12:09 PMI work at one of Chicago's most popular tourist destinations, and people from all over the world come through every day. I decided to ask if they would be willing to write good luck notes in their native languages for my friends who were moving. Despite some bewilderment and language barriers (possibly the cause of the bewilderment), every single person I asked was pleasantly accomodating. In fact, some were touched by the idea, or excited to help out. I am thrilled with the wide assortment of languages represented here - only one is repeated in all twelve cards.
These cards were sent out yesterday, and if the recipients would like to post here when the cards are received, I would appreciate knowing they made it to you. Thanks! :)

I have something for you come Sunday, barring an upset.
This is really sweet, though those Ikea robots look kind of menacing.
Also, good to see your shelf growing back Dax.
Those are lovely postcards, and I like the whole foreign language theme.
you're playing at my language-geek-heart-strings. and you play a mighty fine tune.
What a wonderful way to complete the task - in so many different languages! Your friends are very lucky indeed. :) I hope you'll update with their reactions to the postcards at some point!
