The Gift Of Task by Blue

May 10th, 2007 11:05 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make a task for a specific person to complete. Give it to him/her as a gift. Your task must be generic enough such that anyone can complete it.

Welcome

I created the task: Welcome for Ineluctable M. delaVisible and the others who scared Vicki Venom away.

But really it is a gift for all the new players we get here every week: hobbiest and high scorers alike. I made it to help new players integrate into the community; because in my opinion new players are the most important thing here at SFØ. There are Creepy Cool Ones Like Mantooth to adorable QT's like Bonny Jesus (who will go on about having to many sausages at dinner.

I see SFØ as a living thing that exist outside of all of it's parts.
With every new player SFØ becomes a little bit more alive… and a little bit stronger.
This is especially true with who get totally obsessed and allow SFØ to take over there lives.

I really feel I understand both sides and suppose I took on the task of ambassador for SFØ.
But why don't you decide for yourself?…

Since eight this morning you have been going at it strong...
perhaps your taskiness lacked a certain fanes or commitment...
but still you were motivated and that is the point.
Now you pop up to level 4 and nearly spend the same amount of effort to delete all your info.
What gives?
Did someone hassle you about beeing purely score driven?
Because you could simply redo tasks with a little more love...

---- Vicki Venom on May 08 7:41 pm----

several people sent me very rude and discourageing messages.
i was referred to as a fool, and told i was playing wrong.
i have even been acused of cheating.
i am simply not interested in being part of a commuinty where people would be so terribly rude and unsupportive of someone new. i didnt realize i was doing something to offend so many people, so i prefer to just step out. having myself and my points removed will hopefully quell some of this, i wasnt trying to give anyone a bad taste in their mouth...

I just recomended a new task in light of your experience.

It's called Welcome...
Give a Corgeale(sp) welcome to a new SFØ player.
It is to bad that the players responded to you like that.
I am fairly new here but it is the first time I have heard
of such rudeness. I do not think it is because this is a
community of rude people. But then again I am no
official ambassador for SFØ and I also do not think there
is a way to play the game "wrong" What I think you have
triggered here is a certain type of sensitivity in the players
who take the accumulations of points very seriously(perhaps
to seriously) and who simply would rather see completions
that are nurtured in such a way that you have changed a little
by the time it is complete.

Some people put a lot into a task http://sf0.org/Mouse/Document-A-Construction/
and perhaps they feel you have violated the spirit of the game a
little by going straight for points and rising to level 4 faster
then anyone else who has played.

However I don't believe in wrong or fault...
I think the universe and everything in it acts
exactly as it should. If you like this game don't let
these snippets of anger that people typed in the comfort
of their underwear(As I am doning myself) eat at you.
In my opinion you should trump these players by taking
a task to a level they never thought it could reach.

You could join me for this task...
http://sf0.org/tasks/Ridiculous-Protest/
I am going to protest P. Hilton getting out
of her jail sentence by starting a petition.

Keep America Safe.
Keep hilton in jail!!!!

Cheers,

after many messages like this i have decided that i will stay on, and i thank you for your kind words.
id be happy to join you in that task

Thanks, that's a good task. I will look forward to seeing completions.
