Your Phobia by Blue

May 21st, 2007 1:25 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Document a phobia or phobias that you have. Put it to the test.

BreathofCrack-a—phobia
A have had a lot of unique living experiences; living in the TL(Tenderloin) has prooved to simply be another one of those.

I have placidly accustomed myself to the colourfull nature of my neighborhood. That is to say I have become accustomed to the fact that when I walk to my bus stop at 7:30 in the morning I will probably walk past atleast one prostitute but more then likely it will be the case that I walk past one prostitute and three transexual prostitutes.

You can always spot someone who is new to the TL as they walk down the street wide eyed with their mouth hanging open. I used to be that guy pale as a ghost as I turned quickly arround at the drug dealer trying to make sense of their mumbling…"Whah'cha kneed, ya' doin al'righ?"

But now I hardly flinch as I step over the crackhead on my stoop or as I pass by the one legged prostitute who commonly sits at the 19 Bus stop @ Larkin and O'farrel.

However, whenever I pass within close proximity of someone who is hitting the rock (about 3 times a day) a fear creeps into my mind. As I near I draw in a breath and clamp my lips togethor in sheer terror that they might exhale right as I am passing and that i might accidently inhale a big cloud of crack or speed. It's not the effects of crack I am scared of, who hasn't freebased, its that smell and flavor that is so imitative of tide laundry detergent.

So... where's the phobia? You don't seem too fazed by it.

Patience patience...

I agree with anna one. I also think "who hasn't freebased" is the funniest thing I've heard all day.

during a short walk to lunch today on Haight (about 10 blocks round trip) i saw 2 separate groups of people (seemingly normal ie don't look like crackheads, don't even look homeless) very openly smoking pot, while waiting for a bus.

Where I used to live on Mission, I would see what you also see on a daily basis, also though proly not quite as much. On much more rare ocassions I even saw people openly using needles.

I LOVE SF!!!!!! ... but not the crack so much

Yeah…

Sadly, I'm pro CC.

Licenses should be issued for the usage of photo manipulation software. That right there is proof.

i am equally pro-cc. ya basta con inches, ounces, cups, gallons, avoirdupois.

the more cubic centimeters the better.

as for licensing, it's such a good thing software is proprietary. otherwise things might get out of hand. rights are only cheap when you're a student, good thing i studied hard.
