Y'know, I don't think I'll be performing it. Looking for another task to play for...

I can probably make a recording of it, I'll see what I can do. The big run at the end actually sounded really cool and musical at one point, but then I changed it up a bit to be more aesthetically pleasing.
The stretching of the bar is a product of the next bar being incredibly huge, but yeah, I like how the eight-notes take advantage of it.
And as for the binary... that little gem will have to be figured out.
How long did that take you? And, by the way, I love any song that has peanuts inserted into it. Slightly disappointed you didn't add any nougat, but I'll live....
I've added an .mp3 of it, couldn't figure out how to conveniently get it in MIDI form. Note that, amusingly, it slows down during the 32nd notes because there's too many of them in a row.
As for how long it took, not sure. It was definitely more than a ten-minute kind of thing, but I wasn't paying too close attention.
That actually didn't sound incredibly bad. It was funny how the program actually stopped during the 32nd notes in the third line to catch up with itself.
I've tried translating the binary several times over, but it never makes much sense. -_-
Try adding a "11" to the end of that. It got cut off when I put it on.
Just out of curiosity, what program did you use to make this? I'm thinking about doing it in Finale, but it won't allow one to scribe something that breaks the laws of music, like much of the stuff in Faerie's Aire. How great would it be to find a program that allows that.
Yeah, I used Finale. It won't let you do anything that totally breaks music laws, true, but with a little creativity it can work. I don't know of any software that'll allow you to compose entirely freely (though I'm sure it's out there, whether it's free or not) but you can always compose by hand, too.
This is AMAZING! I especially enjoyed the chord at the end. :D
That's eleven short of a bonus. Or three, depending on your base.
thats really awesome, and weird. but totally suits absurdist lol! good job.
It seems a bit derivative, but awesome anyway.
i think that reading the text was pretty key for me. Also, as previously noted the large bar and the fact that the computer had trouble playing it make it all the more noteworthy. you should come over to my family's house for christmas for a concert. we could tie the cats to the tree and have a sing along. fnord.
Freaking awesome!
I want to try to do this task the moment i can.
How do you add audio to the site (your play function)?
If you can find someone who can play your cluster chords on a horn i will send you $5.
NOOOoo! this task is retired. *cries*
Excellently done. I laughed out loud at least a few times while looking over that. How did it sound with the music-writing software's playback? I'd love to hear a MIDI/mp3 of that if you could make it, even if it's not really "performed".
I also like how you made the second line look ridiculous (especially with the eighth notes on Hn. 1) simply by stretching that single bar out to fit the whole width of the page. Very smart.
Out of curiosity, what does the binary code say at the top?
