Instruction Manual by Darkaardvark

June 3rd, 2007 5:41 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make an instruction manual for an activity or skill related to your group.

So I'm skirting the boundaries of this task's description, but let's face it, my manual addresses a skill that is imperative to my group. If it happens to be just as important to all the others, well, so much the better.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you: Getting Votes and the Drive for Score.

There's been a lot of debate recently over what constitutes a proper task completion. There have also been a spate of new players who join, rocket up to level 4 or 5 through lackluster completions, and then leave the game. They are not getting what they should out of SF0.

I would encourage all players, both new and old, to read this.

Enjoy.

As a new player, I feel reassured by your instruction manual. I hadn't given much thought to attaining votes, but I will now strategize with your advice in mind.
Thanks for such a handy manual.

that is a request to Sean, Sam or Ian. All new players should be made aware of this helpful material as soon as possible.

And everyone has had a task they put a lot of effort into go unnoticed. It happens. Don't worry about it.
Sometimes, though, they do notice.

Meta: You're not so new! In fact, you should be considered an older, very experienced player! I mean, I'm newer than you, but not by much. And I feel ancient!

This completion, by the way, is stellar.

(I've given up "awesome")

Don't give up on "awesome" if anything add to it and switch it up every once in awhile. Might I suggest "rad"?

@Vixen: Meta had been playing for... about a week if my numbers are right when that comment was made (I'm going from date of first task completion).

And AmIRight when I say that votes for old completions are always the best? I know it's been said before, but it bears repeating.

Whoa, I didn't even look at the date, haha.... I thought that this completion was new for some reason...

Apologies, Meta.

new comments are like messages to the present, which is to say, the past's future. Especially to ahem... obsessive feed readers? These realizations about our present freedom hidden in our cities, uncovered in praxis, these realizations are cumulative and they- all our collaborations and all our votes and comments-- these revelations glitter in hyperspace, throwing off shockwaves of eschatology. And if the truth can be told so as to be understood, it WILL be believed.

I should've checked that. I'll get it back uploaded somewhere.

Update: Fix'd.
