Journey to the End of the Night Minnesota by JJason Recognition
October 28th, 2008 10:25 PMThe city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.
For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.
After you participate in Journey Minnesota, please post your adventure in detail here! Tell the world how awesome you became in your transit of our fair city. How the city became ours again. How you tasted the sweet kiss of concrete beneath your feet, your heart in your throat, your chest a white flame.

Why is this in bullet points? Cause it's been a long time and I want to publish this but I don't really feel like writing many words. So you get something in between an indepth right up with fancy subjects and things and me just giving up any never submitting.
START
-Stand behind BU as he explains the rules
-"RUUUUUUUUNNN! RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!"
-chased after Loki, who I had picked more or less at random.
-Helped Burn Unit pack up the stuff
-Talked to crazy drunk person
FIRST CHECKPOINT
-Drop off some yellow, blue, and red ribbons at the first checkpoint
-Menace various runners while moving between park spot and the various places I go
-See Doktor Harmon, who is a runner now. Good work head chasing.
-Drop off change at the first runner's parking spot, so they don't get towed
-Try to help BU with the various crises that develop
THIRD CHECKPOINT
-Helped BU and the staffers there put up the tent
-Put on suit jacket
-Put up the safe zone signs while Burn Unit argued with the security guard.
-Watched the train, making sure no runners tried to get in
-Met up with Rao, who was a chaser now
-Chased after the first group of runners to come by, catching one of them mere feet from the safezone
-But I had to let them go, cause they were a resurrection runner. Oh well. :(
-Helped move the checkpoint, since the guard won in the end
-Back in the car! Off too:
FOURTH CHECKPOINT
-Helped Burn Unit carry the desk out desk and set up the fourth checkpoint
-Ink Tea rides by
-Put on hat
-No time to wait! On to the last checkpoint!!!
AT THE SPYHOUSE
-Dropped off by Burn Unit, sit down to wait for Runners.
-Put on the beard, get cane
-Wait and wait.
-Wait some more.
-I see now why it is a good idea to have more than one person per checkpoint.
-Nobody seems to comment on the fact that I am wearing it a big piece of blue fabric on my face. Oh well.
-Wait
-Runners! And not just runners - it's my old partner from Chicago, Shea Wolfe! Nice deal.
-Also chasers, here to wait for Shea Wolfe
-Shea slips out undetected. Good for him
-More runners come by
-I sign my manifests "I'm Old" on account of the fact that I am old*
-Got antsy, wandered around outside the checkpoints looking for runners
-Watched the chasers and runners engage in their follies
COME 11:00
-called Burn Unit and asked if it was ok if I headed into the finish.
-Amble towards downtown on foot, letting the city spread out in front of me for a while
And that's THE END!
*By the way - who, if any one, noticed the theme for the checkpoints?

I assure you, it was. (Not just by BU, but by others as well - including the unintentional causer of one of said crises.)

You speak as if with insider knowledge of crises and causation and intention....

The sentence "Good work head chasing" should be read as extremely sarcastic
Also: Now I am filled with warm fuzzies.

Not I. But, I only saw 1, 2, and 5 before I was told about the theme. At 1, I was too worried about maps to pay attention. 2 was rather subtle. As for 5, well, BurnUnit's death was absolutely gorgeous, but I didn't initially recognize it as death. I figured he was some sort of Bodhisattva. (The senator's vision of death appears to be rather brighter than my own. And there's much less screaming.)

s'ok. Nobody seems to have mentioned noticing it, so I was curious.

It's also worth noting our less than positive view of middle age.
JJason - This happened before I got involved in SF0, but I am anxiously awaiting the next one! I give you all my remaining points because helping put an event like this together is The Coolest. I helped test the puzzle for MN0PQ3 - but I haven't heard if the actual game happened or not... But in any case, all props to you for what sounds like very professional factotum work. This -- "Try to help BU with the various crises that develop" -- was probably greatly appreciated.
