Flavor music!


This story starts before I will begin it.
I will begin it on Christmas evening two thousand and ten.

I had given up on love, become jaded, wary, and sick of being used.
I planned to spend my life in freedom, lonely, but safe.

Christmas of two thousand and ten my mind was changed by a player named fuzzyharpybug.

Most relationships have their ups and downs but this was somehow different.
Even when I wasn't a model person, he loved me and was compassionate beyond what I've ever seen from other people.
His kindness and pure love crumbled the layer of concrete I had built around my heart.
And he was a genius. I've always been a sucker for the smart ones.

He was the sort of guy little girls dream of and grow up to be too jaded to believe exist.
I had the constant fear that I was being stupid (again) and walking into another trap fate had designed to break my heart.

He was polite, but not passive. Gentle and strong at the same time. Faithful but not clingy or jealous. Impeccably honest and tactful at the same time. Optimistic but not foolish. He could drive, sword fight, hold a job, ride a horse, build a computer, and he loved to laugh with me.

On Valentine's day two thousand and twelve he proposed to me. There in the dark in his car looking out at the icefrosted lights of Fairbanks I thought about it for a long moment and really asked myself If this was what I wanted. I accepted only when I knew I was 100% sure of myself about 10 seconds worth of thought later.



We didn't originally set a date or even really think about the next inevitable step, getting married, but with the prompting of our friends and families we set the wheels in motion.

We might not have given it as much time as we should have. About three months from the date we decided on we started getting things together. We sent out invitations with only two months to spare and my mother nearly had a heart attack trying to make everything perfect.

Leading up to the wedding I took it upon myself to make his ring. This is the end result.


He makes me more myself than I have ever been before and completes me. I've heard of people calling their love their second half and always thought it was corny, but now I can't imagine it any other way.

I only came to realize just how much I have changed when the judge conducting the ceremony referred to me as "Rin" throughout the wedding instead of by my birth name "Erin". I looked around and saw the faces of the people I love and the people who love me and hardly any were surprised.

Thank you SF0. I have become the person who I am thanks to you. That person got married.
