Journey To The End Of The Night Los Angeles 2011 by anna one

JttEotN LA 2011
Having landed in LA off a jet from Buenos Aires just a wee bit less than 24 hours prior to the kick off, I wasn't about the be running around in the heat... (It's winter in the Southern hemisphere, y'know.) I volunteered to document, again. (read:lazy) I thought having a car would allow me to stay ahead of the action, but you know, parking in LA is harder than it is in SF and it turns out that if anyone actually walked in LA they'd get there faster. It's true.
Highlights of this Journey for me included:
* the basketball game at the startpoint which broke up to join our game
* randomly running into Miranda July (my hero) at CP1
* the intense gang of parkour guys with torn clothes
* the hardcore runner chick who outran a taller, bigger man for blocks with bloody knees
* the crazy Italian guy who barely spoke the language, but managed to make it within inches of the end point before getting caught.
* meeting Edwin who was also documenting, who shares an excitement for Peruvian cosmology
* the excellently coordinated CP5 with it's focus on quiet and reading. (Thank you for my copy of Labyrinths, it's been a pleasure.)

Fantastic documentation, Ms. One.
I knew you were fresh from South America, but I didn't know how fresh. Man. Big ups.
That Barbapoca seems like he is very handsome, and brave.
