Once Upon a Time... by JJason Recognition

INSTRUCTIONS: Tell or read a story to an animal. Document the animal's reaction to your storytelling skills.

So I'm at home, which means that I don't have a camera. Which makes it hard to do any tasking. Hard, but not impossible. I realized that I still had my computer, so I could record things. With this in mind, I set out on this task. The animal in question is my family cat, Mango

and the story was one of my favorite science fiction stories, Lobsters by Charles Stross. Lobsters is also the first chapter of Accelerando, which is the form that I have it in.

Accelerando is actually available for free online, so check it out.

The recording of my reading is kind of quiet because my microphone's not so great and kinda scratchy because Mango was walking all over the computer. The purring noise is Mango purring all the time.

Mango didn't seem terribly impressed by my story telling stories, mostly being interested in my petting skills. In fact, he wandered off a couple times and had to be coaxed back with additional petting. I actually only got about a page in before the cat left and never came back. I guess that Mango doesn't appreciate the work of Charles Stross. Recordings of the story process can be heard below.

This is a stock image, taken last summer. But Mango still looks the same.

Accelerando, by Charles Stross. I stole this image from Wikipedia and I don't even feel sorry.

Listen to my story telling skills, which weren't even good enough to keep a cat interested.
