Bex.
A bunch of players from disparate locals wanting to task together. Simple video chat is awesome but has been done before. How to strive for the spirit of shplank in this tired old era?
I got it! Let’s have a postmodern meal! Ingredients spread across the world and time!
Eight courses:
Chex Mix,
Chips & Salsa,
Pigs in a Blanket,
Salad,
Soup,
Sandwich,
Pizza, and
Ice Cream Sundae.
First we deconstruct the recipes, giving each person one ingredient to eat from each course. In my case it was:

1 1/2 cups Rice Chex® cereal,

3 large diced tomatoes,

1 (8-ounce) can original crescent dough,

1 large bowl of leaves (e.g. arugula, spinach, spring greens, romaine, iceberg, etc.),

2 cups beef broth,

2-5 slices deli meat,

1 can tomato sauce,

3 scoops ice cream

Then we put it together virtually, and voila! Reconstructed recipes!
Anna One made us this events page.
We set a date to chat eat together,

but since not everyone could make it, the deconstruction extended to the temporal plane as well with brave Chrononauts eating their ingredients out of phase.
My summarizing thoughts. Though this experience was delightful, because, ADVENTURE and SF0 SOCIAL TIME, I don't think I will be drinking straight pizza sauce again soon, though it's hard to go wrong if you top any meal with ice cream!

All in all this was a good scientific experiment demonstrating how Postmodernism ruins everything. If you don’t believe me, it’s still to not too late to sign up for such ingredients as “1 tablespoon salt” and “2 pounds beef brisket!”

Cheers!
Supine very much enjoyed this deconstructed reconstructed meal, though the mustard was intense.

Relet could not join us on Google Plus due to disturbances in the fabric of the 3-brane, but he did film himself eating the parts of the meal in a Chrononautically displaced fashion.

Kattapa has completed this task before, but joined us nonetheless. Here are his words on the subject:

I had a great time and it was an interesting experience to deconstruct our food. Just like the other break breads I joined, it was just really nice to be able to talk face to face. As for the food, the most suprising experience were the 2 cloves of garlic. I consume a lot of garlic, which made it quite unexpected that putting half a clove of pure raw garlic in your mouth was a sensation very similar to eating a chili pepper. As you might see from my response in this picture:

The rest of the menu was quite tasty (although I wouldn't recommend eating butter):
1) 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
2) 1/4 bunch of cilantro
3) sesame seeds
4) ¼ cup candied walnuts
5) 2 cloves of garlic
6) Two slices of bread
7) ½ cup sausage
8) 1 banana sliced lengthwise
anna one found the deconstructed meal situation pretty funny. She had tried to select a few items that she thought no one else would want to eat, as well as a couple which would be tasty. Anything can be remedied with cheese! Here's her meal:
1.) 3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
2.) 1 pepper of choice
3.) 1 egg, lightly beaten
4.) lemon to taste
5.) 1 cup diced celery root (celeriac)
6.) 1-3 slices cheese
7.) ½ cup artichoke hearts
8.) ¼ cup caramel
In the end, the caramel was absolutely the worst experience - it was way too sweet! She really had thought the salt or the lemon would be worse, but the caramel was followed at some distance by the celery root. Both of these foods are fine in small doses, mixed in with appropriate things, but on their own in these quantities each was less than pleasant.
The best part was the company. It was a pleasure to meet two new (to me) players and exchange stories of discovery and tasking all around. The internet makes fantastic things possible!

That's a salty spoonful.
Loki signed up late, and wound up with a meal heavy on mustard and onions. He's quite fond of both, though generally not all on their own. His meal consisted of:
1. 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
2. 1 diced medium sized onion
3. 1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard
4. pepper to taste
5. 1 tablespoon malt vinegar
6. mustard
7. 1/2 cup black olives
8. 3 marichino cherries

In the end, he found the olives very pleasant, though not entirely filling, and the rest a rather serious slog. Raw onion and mustard are fantastic as an accompaniment to a fine sausage. But, the sausage is an *important* part of the meal. The indigestion didn't dampen his fondness for the task completion, which Bex made far more interesting than the task description itself.

Nice praxis :) This is the type of awesome it is nice to see still happening.
Very good! Though, I'm compelled to ask, how did you manage to upload image files?
