Corporate Makeover by Burn Unit

April 27th, 2007 1:02 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Re-imagine a corporate identity (new name, new slogan etc.).

Then, either:

Write a brief describing the benefits of your re-branding and mail it to the corporation you've chosen. Be convincing.

or:

Take steps to alter your corporation's identity through physical action.

This is actually one of my favorite corporations of all time. I just thought they could use a little extra "oomph," as did my colleagues at the design firm and the UofA. We put together a proposal on spec that we wanted them to consider. It remains true to their original vision, but just slightly modifies some of their intentions. However accepting these slight modifications would completely transform their corporate identity. "The pitch" is a pdf containing the proposed redesign, rationale letter, and new mission statement. I consider it very convincing.

Dropped the letter to the corporation in question in the mail today.

Update 5/23: One thing I did was make the return address on the letter "J Stark CIE, LLC" and the address was the street address for Sean, Ian and Sam at SF0. To my knowledge, they haven't heard from Maxtronic yet, but I'd be interested to know if there was a rejection letter or some acknowledgment.

The pitch.

The pitch.
