REVOLT!!!:
The Villain has gone far enough in San Francisco!!
Ambience Listening (might need to restart it a few times before you get to the bottom)
Since the dawn of the new millenium, the virtual world has been run by robber barons who control entire cities by enslaving people at their desktops. Whether through amazon.©om, or by way of Micro$oft's ubiquity, millions of humans are now held captive and treated like poker chips.

The Villain grew powerful, slowly, tasking bit by bit, gaining points, and commercializing tasks through the dark arts of self-promotion. First stealing, then shrinking our symbols, attacking our heroes, his tasks were a slap in the face to the city and game that we all love. The Villain represents the true dark side of sf0 - a son of the city by the bay, city of hills, he has become a turncoat to the windy city of the plains.
Lead by the brave charge of our Hero, others cast themselves into the fray in desperate attempts to diminish the growing evil influence over our praxis. The people began to come together in many ways to protect the city. And find a way to restore its dignity.
Thus the people of the fair city unite and revolt in anger against their former ally.

Luckily, secret agent 00MetaMink and her rogue UK0-London cell activated independently, initiating a series of events that has stripped the Villain of his power and reduced his image to ashes. She actually assumed the identity of the puppet Villain - good spy that she is - and took his power away in one fell swoop.
As soon as we realized the power of this gesture, the players of SF joined as one to collectively remove the power of the Villain's posting. Once upon a time the Villain struck fear into our hearts and commanded our silence, but we now speak for him. In only a few days, the PRAXIS has become chock full of various villains: villoki, villank, vixellain, just to name a few. His influence is diluted and his messages lost.

Now that the individuality of the puppet Villain is diminished, we are free to return to our city, safe and sound.

We challenge the Villain to renounce his ways once and for all.... and give up on the windy plains. Return to your home and use your powers for good.

i am now torn. this is so so so wrong. He is gaining power by our actions spreading evil, unless you can harness your horde to do good in his name. We all need to do one good thing as the villain or else he will simply have multiplied himself. If we are all good then his actions will be drowned out rather than amplified. Send word, we must do the right thing!
The wave is beginning...
With a framework emerging, more forces are brought in...

---- The Villain, Esq. on Oct 13 11:50 am----(Despite what is seen in the short message excerpts here, it was decided by unseen hands through backroom deals at very late hours that this is more of a revolution than the undermining of a system of control. It has been switched to Viva La Revolution accordingly)
hey mink! thanks for inspiring a flash mob.
i am going to write up 'i am spartacus' attempting to keep it 'good' like the hero and yellowbear have suggested.
any other ideas on where to direct the flash mob before it dissipates?? feel free to send out an email to those who have voted on your proof and become VILLAINS.

Hi Vill S. Preston Esq.,
I'm not sure where to direct the power of all this Villainy, or should I say, anti-villainy. I took a look at I am Spartacus but I didn't think we'd underminded a system so dropped it, maybe there is a way to work this wave of altruism into a flashmob?

---- La Villaín on Oct 13 8:16 pm----
We kinda undermined a system in that nobody on SFØ knows who anybody is without checking their player page. That's undermining, no?
---- The Villainatron on Oct 13 8:33 pm----
How about we take it to the streets and strike a blow against villainy as a concept? Don the bandanna of infamy and commit random acts of kindness - give a flower to a stranger, feed the pidgeons something better than old hamburgers, donate a kitten to an old peoples home (this is going a bit far maybe, but you get the gist...) all in the name of The Villain!
I'll do it if y'all will.

Villains For Goodness All Over the World!! Feeding & clothing the needy, bringing peace to the warring, giving hugs to orphans and helping old ladies cross the street.

Secret Agent 00MetaMink's actions have struck a great blow against villainy. And the people of SF greatfully thank UK0 for their assistance in the struggle.

Mink:
Tacking this on at the end, I didn't know about this plot til just now, and am proud to have inspired people to cause this (mild) havoc! But I loathe to be added to a task without contributing to it directly. (**Mink immediately springs into action, sending out the message that is excerpted in the above message exchanges.**)YellowBear:
Starting with Bill S. Preston's draft, today I added messaging excepts, hyperlinks, formatting, ambience music, updates section and pics. Bex has sent out additional word to rally the Villains to begin the good deeds. Glad to see this taking shape. Let's get this finalized quick so it can go to praxis and everyone can be added! Hopefully we can get his write to go live tomorrow.

Subj: The Status of Villainy!
Date: Oct 13 11:07 pm
Hello fellow Villains of Good!
This is your trusty Herø reporting on the status of Villainy in SFØ. In a matter of days we have successfully lowered the evil:Villain ratio to almost nothing!
My trusty companions, YellowBear, Bill S Preston, esq., Minkatron, and I are currently working on the write-up for Viva La Revolution!. All of you will be added once it has taken a rough shape, let us know if we have forgotten anyone, or if you do not wish to be included.
But our work here is not done!
We must continue to strike out against Villainy! We call upon you, the Villainous masses to subvert the power of evil in SFØ! I challenge each of you don the bandana of infamy and go out and do a Good Deed as The Villain. Commit Random Acts of Kindness. Help old ladies cross the street. Save kittens from drowning. Feed hungry orphans. Bring peace to warring nations. Do this as part of other tasks if you like, but submit evidence of your subverted Villainy on the updates section of the Viva La Revolution write-up (to be posted in a couple of days). You are encouraged to express your group's trajectory of desire in these endeavors. Good luck, good Villains!
Together we can transform evil into cuteness!
Your Herø,
Bex
YellowBear:
Posted. Everyone with a Villain photo has been added to the write up (those who are currently signed up independently need to drop it from the submit proof page and send me a message). Hopefully everyone who wishes to participate will be able to. Change your picture then GO OUT AND DO GOOD! Join the Revolution. Viva!

I did all the little things that I could think of. I bummed out a few cigarettes to those who asked, I held the door and the elevator for people, I let my buddies ride shotgun in the car. But by lunchtime I had been solicited for no genuine good deeds, so I took action into my own hands and offered to buy two of my co-workers lunch of their choice!

It was what they wanted, so the cholesterol isn't on my head.

I felt like I had been doing a good job comminting my few random acts of kindness, but I was disapointed that nobody really Needed my help. As the afternoon went on I was able to tie someones shoes, I certainly didn't want him to trip and hurt himself! But as I was taking my afternoon break I still felt a little unfulfilled (despite 2 pretty good deeds, and 4 very minor good deeds so far)

Thats when this fine young gentleman fell right into my lap!!!
------------->
You can tell he is very sad. That because he has gotten himself stuck at work with NO RIDE HOME he is rather upset and doesn't know what he is going to do (YES!!). The perfect opportunity for one super fulfilling good deed to round out the day. I drove him up to Daly City and dropped him off at his house on my way home. He was really really excited! and grateful for the good deed.

It's good to be good! I think I might just keep it up all week! (Who knows, maybe I'll be a good bear forever)

S P Â R :

While walking up the steep incline between the tenderloin and knob hill today, affectionately known as the tenderknob, I saw a man in a wheelchair struggling up the hill. I stopped and I asked him if he would like my assistance and upon his acceptance I began to push him up the hill. After a couple blocks he asked me for some spair change which to which I declined and we parted ways. It didn't change the world but I wasn't trying to.

I Saved my neighbor!!!
someone tried to break into her house...SERIOUSLY!! they found her spare key and BROKE IT IN HER DOOR!!! so she tried to get in then came to me for help.
"Ill save you!!"
so i got a pair of tweezers and small scissors and pulled out the key...unfortunately i only got a couple of pictures...

Spidere-Villain:
A friend in need! Panicked over the analysis she had to do for tomorrow for her professor! But the test took an hour--the program would never finish running by tomorrow! Fortunately, I came up with a neat way to save some computation, and it finished in twenty minutes. Doesn't sound very exciting, I know (though she was very excited!), and I also have no pictures. So I also baked some cookies for my housemates. Oatmeal chocolate chip, yum!

Bex the Herø:
I did Good Deeds! Who knew the mask of villainy would fit so nicely as a cape?

His name was Adrien and he didn't even rape or assault me! He is a street artist and I talked his ear off about sfØ.

And while continuing with my drive of Good Deeds, I didn't run over a little old lady crossing the street!

Earlier in the day, Prudence had made all this possible by doing the Good Deed of lending me her car. So when I was done with my trip, I filled her gas tank to the tippy top.

Then I cleaned up some chewed pistachio shells from her back seat.

And I cleaned out the garbage that had been in the front seat.

Not fully content with creating the anti-villainy game, I aim to register all genuine villains in order to prevent unauthorized villainy.

For my good deed I have decided to repair the damage done to the glorious town of Great Yarmouth by our tasking! We have spent the day completing the Human Chess task by playing Town-sized Monopoly (coming to the Praxis soon) and we used copius ammounts of cardboard, tape and paper and set it up in a public park. As a result I put all of our rubbish in a bin and kept Yarmouth clean.

This has been an interesting couple of weeks for me, including many opportunities to touch the world around me in positive ways. 3 stand out for me, none particularly grand gestures, but all making the world just a little bit better for someone. Unfortunately I have no visual proof for any of these:
1. A guy at the BART station, standing in front of the ticket machines, asking for change. I give him what is in my pocket and he thanks me, counts up what he has and goes to look at the rate list. It is clear he doesn't have enough, so while I'm getting my ticket from the vending machine, I ask him how much more he needs. "A dollar" he says, so I immediately pop the dollar into his hand from the change I got from my ticket. "You are a gentleman and a scholar" he says, clearly grateful.
2. I am currently staying with some friends in Oakland (hence the BART) and one of them was feeling under the weather, so I ran out to Safeway and picked up some Cambel's Chicken Noodle Soup for her. She is recovering nicely, thanks in part to that soup.
3. Every once in a while, I get a craving for food from Taco Bell (talk about Evil). When I get the craving, I usually go a little overboard. The other day I bought one of their massive meals of 10 crunchy tacos, knowing that even I would be unable to eat all of them, but figured I could save some for later. There's this park bench on McArthur in the Laurel neighborhood where I like to sit and eat, and while sitting there a very thin woman, probably in her late 40's to early 50's comes by, asking if I might spare some change so she can get some food or whatnot. At the time I had very little change, but told her she could share my tacos, and quickly gave her 2. She sat down next to me and ate one on the spot. The other she put in her purse, very carefully so as not to crush it. She was very thankful for the one she ate, but had to hurry off. I offered her more as she left, and was surprised when the response was a very happy no-thank-you. I ate the rest, only to get a stomach ache. I haven't craved or eaten Taco Bell since.
I'm sure there are others, and if I went out with the intention of being a good villain, or even a good fairy, I might collect something more intense (and maybe doing something so direct might be a better way) but this is what I've got.

Burn Unit - on Thursday the 18th I dedicated myself to good deeds. This started with waking up and going to work while it was still dark out--not because I had to, but to help out a coworker with a conference call. My anti-villainy bandana was at the office (so was my umbrella!), so I used a plastic bag to cover my face for the bus stop picture. I got onto the conference call and sat, masked, on hold for 15 minutes. Considering my early start, I believe that whole experience was a pretty good deed. Then I decided to buy some breakfast treats for the office. On my way to the bagel shop I realized "hey, everyone buys bagels" so I took it to another level by stopping into the premier old-world deli in the Twin Cities, Kramarczuk's, where I bought the fixin's for a meat and cheese tray of utter deliciousness (seriously, if you need some great charcuterie, there may be no better place than one block from my work where you can get it from Kramarczuk's and Surdyk's). I also bought Fitness Bread to put the cheese and/or meats onto. Later there was a fireman "filling the boot" with fundraising cash. I donned the kerchief and donated.

I know you all have some better good deeds in you than I do. Don't be bashful, put my minor goodness to shame with your over the top ultra goodness.
I have an idea of a good dead I will forward to Tom regarding a christmas tree and a bag!
I say no one un-Villains until they put up their good deed.
Oh geez. Being a villain gets me in trouble. or maybe that was the vodka...
Feel the evil flowing through you, Ink.
Deeds! Yay! Nicely done. Hopefully this will inspire even more goodness to come.

I done did take lots of video proof - I wonder if anyone will see it? :(
The good deed is in the second (much shorter!) video.
Although I did enjoy your vaguely lunatic ramblings in the first video. Drive is the same thing as idiocy!
were the best part of the whole task. If you thought they sounded loony on the video, just imagine a bandana wearing figure carrying a tiny camera while talking out loud to herself.
This is nothing compared to today's planned outing. You want loony? Oh, I'll give you loony all right.
more villainy badges, for your
printing and laminating pleasure....
i can bust out more upon request.
I dig the official sf0 hollogram!
If you are really making laminated ones, I totally want one
When did those fairies appear? That's the funniest thing I've ever seen!
I would hate to meet those fairies in a dark alley. Or a sunny car park, for that matter.
I wrote up a proof of my activities and now it's gone. which one of you thievin bastards deleted my text? now the photos and movie make hardly a lick of sense. I'm not writin all that stuff again.
oops. geez, keeping an anti-villain attitude is hard...
I for one am satisfied that a single act of benevolent villainry has reduced the number of t@co be|l eaters, if only just by one....
Senator Burn:
This happens to me all the time- it's a glitch that crops up when two people are editing the same content at the same time- I think. I've finally learned to keep a copy of my texts just in case...
Yes the loss of write up seems to happen when two people edit. One person writes and updates while another has the onld text open and edited, when the second person submits the first editors work is gone. I highly recommend clicking the proeview button to open in a new window/tab or saving the contents of your writing (the whole write up infact) in a word document.
On the subject of Lisa Nova and her videos the P. Diddy one is my favorite, followed quickly by Holiday Magic. Awesome.
also i have no access to a lamination machine but i will print nice ones and bring them to make it happen...
...... and why may i ask is the derrida daemon involved in this now?
I've got access to a lamination machine.
No idea why the Daemon is in here. I didn't add him, perhaps he has something to do with helping people get access to join? There were about5 who were involved in a previous revolution that was unsubmitted and they were unable to be added at first. The devs helped to clear that up and perhaps the daemon was involved(?). But i don't want to raise his ire by booting him from the group. Perhaps all would be made right if he got a little bandana?
the dæmon is not human... you speak of it as if it were more than 1s and 0s...
but yea at least he(?) could participate... no villainous group is truly complete without a dæmon to, oh i don't know, process orphaned tasks and monitor executions of bygone characters....
If you ask me, the waiting on hold video stands on its own.
you took my idea!
Just 'cause you thought of it first, submitted it before I had even begun, executed it much better than I would have done, and documented it beautifully. . . that's no excuse.
Now that i see how this works, I've got a plan. Next time, I'll come up with an idea so poor that no one would even think of doing the same thing.
even seeing the third video, which really is the best of the bunch. needs to get me some editing software...
Thank you for including me in your task. I have disguised myself as "The Villain" and cleaned up and added to the About page. Hopefully this is a sufficiently "good" deed.
Love,
The SFZero Daemon
what disappeared on the about page?
Zemaluco,
I think what disappeared was all the outdated stuff about how votes are worth different amounts of points depending on what level you are.
If you go to the Praxis page, click "Score" and "All time" you'll see that almost all the top scorers were from the Impossible Exchange era, before the last reset, when one vote could be worth dozens of points (if it came from a high-level player).
We'll never see scores like this again, at least until there are thousands of active players!
Charlie,
The amount a vote was worth was balanced, to a certain extent, by the limitation on numbers of votes one garnered at each level.
I know, it must have been terrible. Having to decide when to hold back and when to use up your precious votes. That would suck.
At your sacred Doorhenge, you did all partake in a meal of Evil. This cake has since gestated. Touched off by Metatron's foray into Villainy, young Villains now spring up on the Playerboards like little mushrooms.

Lost in this proliferation of Villains, the Evildoer can no longer conduct evil activities...
But can Bex the Herø truly reign in the tides of Villains in order to change the world for the better -- or will the flocks of Villains fly out of control? Will The Villain's nefarious plot to bring SFØ to Chicagø be thwarted? Can The Villain still complete the impossible task of Pure Evil before the end of the Era?
It remains to be seen.
This fateful week will see the completion of the Duel between The Villain and The Herø. Stay tuned to the Praxis for this final showdown of Good versus Evil, coming to an SFØ near you!
