Sunset by Lincøln

January 12th, 2008 9:28 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Stand at the westernmost point of San Francisco and photograph the sunset. Watch for the green flash!

I came up with a plan to take a photo at sunset every day for this era no matter where I was, and then publish them all at the end of the era, which I have successfully accomplished here. Most days at sunset I was working, so on a roof somewhere in Valencia. Which I thought would give me some pretty good sunset pictures. And the results are mixed. See for yourself.

I give you the Interregnum in sunsets:

Tuesday, January 1:

Wednesday, January 2:

Thursday, January 3:

Friday, January 4:

Saturday, January 5:

Wednesday, January 9:

Thursday, January 10:

Friday, January 11:

Saturday, January 12:

And so I bid you a fond farewell Interregnum. It was fun. Let's do it again sometime.

And as the sun sets on this era and I'm about to go to a party to celebrate it and Glasnost and our new and exciting Insatiability, I give you a complete history of my tasking this short but sweet era.

January 1

January 1

I didn't work on the first day of Interregnum and was able to position myself for a great picture.

January 2

January 2

I was at work on a hill in Glendale. Pretty good view.

January 3

January 3

From a roof in Stevenson Ranch.

January 4

January 4

It rained all day today and it was very overcast so there wasn't much sunset really. It just kept getting progressively darker and darker. But this is it.

January 5

January 5

Same deal here. Rainy and overcast. Just so random streaky, slightly colored clouds.

January 6

January 6

Still overcast. From a roof in Southern Oaks.

January 7

January 7

It's beginning to clear up, but there's still no real clear line to the horizon, so the sunset is a bit off.

January 8

January 8

From the corner of Valencia and The Old Road. Going home after a rough day. Still a bit overcast.

January 9

January 9

On a roof in Porter Ranch. Finally another good one. Five days of nothing good. Thank you Wednesday for not sucking and being overcast and gloomy.

January 10

January 10

This is from right outside my hotel on the Napa River in Napa. We were just pulling up to the hotel as the sun was setting after driving all day long. It was far more overcast in Napa than it was in L.A. for those four or five days where I didn't get any good sunset shots.

January 11

January 11

Again, a shitty overcast day in Napa. The only way I could tell it was sunset is because I looked up the time the sun sets. The sky looked like that all day. And for about an hour after it set as well.

Goodbye Interregnum. It was great while it lasted. This one does as the task requires. I am at the Westernmost point in San Francisco.

Actual sunset

Actual sunset

The sun didn't really set in the picture I took on the beach, it actually set right here behind Lank there. We were a bit late.

They accompanied me to the furthest West point in San Francisco too.

Lank's all over it

Lank's all over it

Lank documents the sunset on this last day of Interregnum as well.

Anna One documented as well

She's prettier than both Lank and I.

Down on the beach getting all artistic-like.

All done

All done

Anna One shows off the awesome light quality of sunset here. This is when we decided that we had all done enough tasking and left the beach and the era of Interregnum behind us.

Thinking of you on these roofs thinking about SF0 and the sunsets. Thank you for your interregnum tasking and see you in insatiability.
