We're going to launch a thousand oragami boats on the boating lake in Canon Hill Park, Birmingham.

Getting to Canon Hill Park:

Buses from City Centre: No.1 (to Edgbaston Road), 45 & 47 (to Pershore Road)

There is a large car park off Edgbaston Road, opposite the Warwickshire Cricket Ground, near the Mac entrance. A small car park is located off the Russell Road entrance.

Nearest train station: University and then walking to Canon Hill Park.

If you're planning on coming let me know how many boats you're bringing and I can add you to the praxis.

Bring digital cameras and be prepared for all kinds of weather. This event will go ahead even in the pouring rain.

Due to competing diary commitments I've had to move this event. Hope that doesn't impact too much!

I read "dairy commitments" and imagined you wanted to get the ships to sail across the milky seas ...

I like this a lot. If I'm not working that day I'll try to score some Megabus ticket. Will update nearer the time.

no way...

we've been preparing for a similar thing...

I'll add you as a collaborator...

If you do come you'll get added as a collaborator. It's about including as many people as possible rather than being devisive.

Isn't The Actor from like, far, far away? (i.e. America?)

Ah.

I didn't realise that.

Post in haste, repent at leisure...

I assure you, many of us Amuricans really wish we could come over for this, and just to go task in the UK, in general. I'm currently trying to figure out what sorts of tasks I can do while I'm on a trip this week! (If only my family and I could get Helen completed while we're together, but there's no way we can drop all else and get those boats folded by next weekend.)

Best of luck with your event!

End of an era! +1

AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The era ends in 12 days but my completion is supposed to be happening in 18 days.

The completion HAS to come forward.

Sorry to anyone who was planning on coming... but it's all change.

wait! WAIT!

Just in case you haven't lived through the 'end of an era' - it's not all that traumatic. I've lived through three, and one was barely two weeks long!

All ya gotta do, see, is sign up for the task now: it'll still be there when the ball drops. Everything except your score stays in your account. So you can do the task on schedule, document it normally, upload afterward, and post at your leisure. You just won't be able to sign up for more than ten tasks after the era is over.

Oh.

So burning the midnight oil and going freaking crazy over the last couple of weeks with making boats means...

*bangs head on desk*

Drat. I am skint. And the last megabus leaves Brum to come back to London at 15 minutes before this starts. Alas.

Hope all goes swimmingly.
