Description:

We had so much fun last time we're doing it again, and hope to get additional wonderful SF0 humans to join us! Lots of information at http://ctfwsinthepark.com/index.html .

Stuff is an important concept in game design. Arkanoid is Pong with stuff. Starcraft is Chess with stuff. Settlers of Catan is Monopoly with stuff. Well, many years ago some folk over at Carnegie Mellon University decided to make Capture the Flag with Stuff (CTFWS, pronounced cut-uh-fwus).

It's like traditional CTF in that there are two teams with their own territories in which they place and protect flags, but there are items you can use to have abilities you wouldn't otherwise. Examples include a wand that lets you capture enemies in their own territory, and a belt that makes everyone who is linked arms with you and is currently skipping and singing "yankee doodle" at the top of their lungs immune to capture.

Go check out http://ctfwsinthepark.com/index.html for full rules, directions, and for possible information updates as the date progresses. Note: if it rains, it rains.

Oh, hooray for good timing. Too bad I'll probably have to leave early to get my flight back to London.

If anyone wants to show me the Wave Organ or eat burritos before this, that would be awesome. The window is only about 40 hours long.

However, it seems I'm a complete moron. That, or I just misread the date as the 19th somehow. Cause of course people would play games in the park on a Tuesday afternoon, amiright?
Yeah, so I won't so much be leaving early as arriving late, or for the after drink, or something. Still. 48 hours in town before back across the pond. Stuff to do, hopefully awesome people for company.
