Bay Area Rapid Transit PICNIC by anna one, artmouse, Kate Saturday, Rubin Starset, BART, Benjamin Schlotz
December 21st, 2010 4:12 PM
BART (b)a): Typically I'm not partial to passengers eating while riding, but when the occasion calls for them to picnic in fancy dress, how could I disapprove? After all, they are being transported in my gut, why shouldn't they transport nutrients in theirs?
Rubin: I didn't dress up because I'm a fucking rebel.
(Rubin, you'd be dressed up if you were naked. -S)
Saturday:
-->I really like riding trains in general, it reminds me of visiting my grandparents and going to the Natural History museum, that safe and that anticipatory.
-->Anna One made delicious empanadas.
-->Have you noticed how good looking all my collaborators are? I've noticed.
-->I wanted to offer people cookies to include them, to take care of them, and to tie us all together into one larger community. But really my favorite part was that they looked so happy while i led them into a life of crime.
-->SF0 players only look that happy while reading about Jesus.
-->This was very fun. Thanks guys.
anna one:
Hooray! I finally got to meet the fantastic Ms. Saturday! (the pleasure was mine. -S) Witty banter, confused strangers, no citation AND tea & cookies? Hard to beat, my friends. One thing that SFØ always does well is picnic.
artmouse:
Highly successful event with the only real big hiccups being
1) it is difficult to maintain water at an adequate temperature to brew tea and also not scald people
2) the BART (p)a)rty sign was tragically abandoned in the rush to LEAP off a train. Here's to hoping it kept the party alive in that car, even after our dramatic exit! ("Tragically abandoned"? more like generously abandoned! you're welcome, Bay Area. -S) (as usual Kate, you have the best attitude about these things!)
awesome elements included:
A) persimmons were a big hit - perfectly ripe (even if they were a little squashed)
B) Learning what the Bible really means
C) having a "Meet & Eat" with some of my favorites.
Here is a short video of our adventures

I'm sure someone will enjoy sitting under a 'Bart party' sign. :) Yay for videos of ... tea.

haha, yeah i had a feeling that would come up - i was aiming to emphasize all the other little things going on around the tea brewing - like the inversion of peoples' images in the water and other such things.

Meeting up for picnic tasking and BARTing? Very cool.

sweet video, Mouse! it reminds me of how it was, except more yellow and warm, with a low buzz and the flavor of wheat tea. art improves life.
So beautiful, old players and new! The only thing about it that makes me sad is that i couldn't be there.
