Tasks / Dogmatics 101: Know Why

Do you think dogma means rigid authoritarian beliefs? Time for Dogmatics 101!
Karl Barth writes "Dogmatics is the science in which the Church, in accordance with the state of its knowledge at different times, takes account of the content of its proclamation critically..."
Critically account for what you believe and say by enumerating some or all of your beliefs and describing where they come from and what they mean.

So, this is a Zero level complete of this task. It's really a task all of us should do every so often anyway - Introspection seems to be a dying art... Anyway
I'm a Christian. This is the result of a combination of childhood conditioning and being generally comfortable with most of the ideas here. I have to watch a tendency to slip towards nature worship (because nature is awesome (In the proper sense of the word)) and idolotory (most of my formal prayer is done in Buddist / Shinto temples), and I don't agree with most of the dogma of my nominal church (presbyterian), but it's a genuine belief (Which I'll be the first to admit may be wrong, see next dogma).
I'm a Phyrhonian Skeptic. I don't believe in the possibility of knowledge - ANY knowledge. This has "surprisingly" little effect on day to day life. The whole point here is that NONE of us can know things, so my belief in this has no practical effect, and neither does your belief that you CAN know things. We're all opperating on belief. This one is a direct result of 3 years study of philosophy.
I'm a Compatabalist - Which basically means that I believe that Free Will and Strict determanism are compatable. Not a common or particularly popular belief, but there you are. Basically this belief is a result of the proceeding two. It solves the problems of evil and freewill (and several others).
I believe that Systematic government is both morally incorrect, and ALSO the most benign form of social organisation. This one is the result of observation of the way humans interact on both a micro and macro level.
There are others, but those are the ones that have the most practical effect on my day to day life.

The first three comments below asked met to elaborate on my statements. As I am not one to take 15 points and run, and some of my statements are profound, I feel I must elaborate to quite the masses. 1. Logic and science dictate that the existance...

I don't really have much faith in religion (pun intended), so I'll take the "authoritative principle" approach to dogmatics 101. I believe that many of our societal problems stem from the fact that there are too many people on the planet and that ...

I believe that there are things that are much better left unsaid. This comes from my stupid ass mouth getting me into trouble one time too many.
I believe we are each the universe experiencing itself subjectively. I also believe we ought to make that whole experience more varied, to make it worth the while. There's really not any logic behind that, at least that I know of/understand. Blame ...

I believe in sf0. I believe in its power. its power to Drive us to create. to question. to understand. to Drive each other. it is greater than the sum of its players. It is changing the world. in a time when so many feel powerless to have any eff...
I am a Pagan, which I suppose is my most dogmatic of beliefs. Now grant that Paganism doesn't exactly have a specific sacred text; I scoff at many of the Llewelynn book and am critical especially of Gerald Gardner, the man credited with modern Wicca...

An Aspect of What I Believe and One of the Reasons Why: I am a person who's lured by mysteries, attracted by siren song. I'm better satisfied with questions than answers most of the time. Even so, over the course of my life there's one answer that...

I believe life is beautiful. To have so many words for beauty (Roget's Thesaurus contains 4 entries for "beauty" with 55 synonyms, Wikipedia's entry on beauty contains over 1600 words detailing the definition, social spects, history of, deification...
It's interesting to me as the creator of this task that-- though it mentions the church (in the Barth quote)-- I didn't intend it to strictly be about religion.
Though most of the proofs so far mention religion or God. I would also be interested to see how more secular folks consider what might be their dogmas--they do have them after all--and what, if any, systematic approach they take to constructing and exploring them.
I think it's possible to do this task without mentioning God, though I'm delighted to see people feel safe enough to do so here. I mean, I plan to mention God when I write my proof for this task of that you can be certain...
