Over-engineer a solution. Find an everyday problem, and devise a solution that would make any bureaucracy proud.

Your solution should include at least some of:

Requirements documents
Feasibility studies (on multiple solutions -- options are required before a method can be chosen)
Specifications documents
Preliminary design reviews
Design reviews
Blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
Failure mode analysis
Contingeny plans

Viewgraphs are expected (though PowerPoint or equivalent is an acceptable substitute). Be sure to have your entire committee present to vote on any decisions.

Least (but certainly not last), enact your solution.

Document your results, and be sure to hold an after-action review.
