Y'know, it's -expensive- to post a job listing on Craigs. I'm also not so down with wasting the time of unemployed folks. If someone is going to try to pull this, at least target the sorts of jobs were people are likely to be will off?

I've been job-hunting myself lately, and I have to say, it's a bit dizzying when you score an interview - hopes skyrocket because rejection seems to be much more common than the elusive interview.

I'm curious: what's the desired outcome of this particular task?

Fake Real Jobs vs. Real Fake Jobs

Yikes, hadn't looked at this in a while, and there's definite issues. So full disclosure: eons ago, when Craigslist job postings were still free (at least in Chicago), and there was a different sort of project in the works, we wanted subjective, but precise descriptions of as many street corners as possible (along the lines of this).
So we posted it as a job ("WANTED: Human Googlebots") on Craigslist, promising a buck or two per location, and perhaps some kind of length requirement. Only a couple people did it, but we did pay up, giggled at being bosses, played mysterious, etc.

So I'd say that was a Real Fake Job, and that's what got turned into this task. The problem with a Fake Real Job is that there seems be little between this task and a prank.

I was hesitant to do this task because of some of the dialogue regarding it. I agree with a few others that wasting unemployed folks' time is not cool, and neither is building false hopes regarding job interviews and whatnot. So I decided to post a...

As others have expressed, I felt a bit shady about doing this task, but was curious as to the kind of responses I might receive. So I shrugged off those pesky moral qualms and posted away: Reverse Engineer ------------------------------------------...
