Just a note about traditional Haiku... part of the process is to observe and remark without critical or editorial comment. The imagery and juxtapositions themselves within the short poem are supposed to provide the commentary while the writer's voice is simply there to describe.
Or at least, that's how the zen influenced Haiku is supposed to work (as I understand). We in America are usually introduced to Haiku in grade school as the first and easiest formal poetry that can be taught, but due to the early point that it is taught, the non-editorial nature of the poetry is usually left out, being a somewhat difficult concept to teach new poets. Unfortunately no one gets around later on to teach the full power of the super-short non-editorial poem, so most American Haiku lacks this restriction.
Just my two cents. I'm putting it in because the non-editorializing, to me, feels so much more satisfying, and since this task is about observation and then interaction, I just felt that it might be an appropriate addition for those who want something a little extra.
Is haibun acceptable for this taske?
Should "maintain invisibility" be taken literally? Because I seem to have misplaced my Invisibility Cloak.

Pictures to come. There's this guy I always see on the 71 (Haight St.) bus. He looks just like Eddie Murphy in a fat suit. Every morning, it's so hard not to stare. Is it Eddie Murphy? Have I jumped to an alternate universe? Anyway, this morning I...
