Paint or “write” an icon which is a discipline of prayer and devotion. The icon to be painted is “The Prodigal Son.”

As a resource, consider Windows to Heaven by Elizabeth Zelinsky and Lela Filbert, Sacred Doorways by Linette Martin, A Brush with God by Peter Pearson, and/or historical Byzantine icons. Spend up to $100 on materials, possibly for an icon board, brushes, paint, and gold leaf.

OR
Spend nothing and build a traditionally-themed icon out of found, stolen, and/or waste materials.

Work alone (or with divine participation), for at least 2 1/4 hours at a time, for six weeks.
