4th of July? Er.... statistics class?

Then I thought, "Hmm....what's a low-cost, familiar and all around awesome activity that everyone can enjoy....?"

BONFIRE!!!

So there it is, bonfire at the site of doorhenge. Expect there to be gummy tarot, plenty of whiskey, lots of fire, tasty things, no horse cops, eucalyptus trees and possible shenanigans.

-random instruments
-snackables
-beverages
-bird calls

...and your patriotic spirit in whatever form you see fit. This could include but is not limited to:

Man--not a gathering or a shindig? I'm doubly sad to miss it, then (I'm back in DC with my constituents for the 4th). My regrets--have fun!

Spidere, this bi-coastal life style has made you miss out... this must be rectified.. perhaps with a social gathering akin to dressing up and marking a youthful rite of passage. Yes? Yes.

What kind of help are you looking for?

I'm not sure anyone can help Kyle. We'll all just have to get used to him, and love him, as he is.

I am totally going.

And I think I still have a flag, and quite possibly some more patriotic crap.

Heh heh...what would Alaska do...

I like the idea of Abraham Lincoln cupcakes.... can I be twisted and give them gooey red icing and brains and turn them into The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln cupcakes - or is that considered un-patriotic?

Please please please do.

If anyone is interested in trying a human labyrinth at this shindig, I'll be bringing chalk and rope too.

Firewood
posted by KristinawithaK on July 2nd, 2008 8:51 PM

Firewood List: All right guys, as the list of attendees is getting longer, more people usually means more wood needed (no idea why this is so, but it usually is...). I can bring some but if we want to make this bonfire last, we'll need some pitchin' in. I have a car so if you need transport help the day of, I'll be willing to help y'all out.

Add me to the list of wood bringers.

Also, everyone should probably bring a chair, or a blanket, or the firm conviction that it's good to sit on the floor.

i am enjoying watching the attendance list grow... and holding out hope that there will be more... i've noticed a trend in the lack of rsvping that happens 'round here...

do i need to open Mrs. Minch's School of Cyber Etiquette?

(no subject)
posted by KristinawithaK on July 3rd, 2008 5:34 PM

A lot of the time, people don't bother rsvping, they just show up.

I think it's much more exciting that way :)

Mother may I?

That counts me out.

apparently you thought i was serious

Mrs. Minch's School of Cyber Etiquette is a joke.... unless you'd actually like to see me dressed quite proper, dolling out punishments for improper behavior....

I think I need a different player for this.... that or Minch has a naughty side she doesn't show (often).

Is that "often" in a week, or "often" in a day?

UPDATE: So I've been talking to several people are there seems to be an interest in making this a bbq. From what I remember, there is indeed somewhat of a bbq pit at the location but with no grate. Does anyone have a grate? Or better yet, a portable bbq??

Also, I'm bringing a little baby bbq so if you have anything you want to throw on it, bring it!!

I'm bringing shrimp...
