Description:
With two upcoming Midwest street games, Journey MN0 and The Architect & the Urchin, we have arranged for two official training sessions. This is your second chance to sculpt your meek urbanite body into a merciless machine of play.
These sessions are open to the public, including those who will not be participating in either JEN or AU.
What is the point of training? Considering the state of urban life in the 21st century, it is possible that you have forgotten how to play tag. Our rigorous training program will not only make you better at running after your bus, jumping over the customer service counter when you're upset, and scaling buildings with your bare hands, it will also ensure your victory on the field of play.*
What will happen at the training event? We will participate in a regimen of semi-formalized "childrens" games - suggestions are welcome, so bring your favorite game! The training program will include Freeze Tag and Sardines, and may also include Nuclear Tag, Red Rover, Octopus, Crack-the-Whip, Lava Monster, and BASE Jumping.
When do we get to learn Parkour? Parkour is the single most essential skill for succeeding at JEN and AU. Because we are selfish and ineffectual, we will not be teaching this. If you are serious about learning, watch Jump Britain, and try it at home.
If you cannot make it to TRAINING DAY #2 on September 5th, but you are still worried that you will fail when asked to play, considering coming to TRAINING DAY #1 on August 23rd.
This will be a very, very serious night of play. This will certainly not be fun. Not fun. Please ask questions.
* this claim has been reviewed by the CG0 Committee for Playground Proficiency and is 100% gauranteed.
