Description:

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it. For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.

Journey to the End of the Night is a free, epic street game, presented in Chicago by CG0 for the second year running. It is a pursuit across the city in 6 parts. No skates, no bikes, no cars, no buses, just your feet and the good old Elevated Train.

Players are advised to bring some water, possibly a camera, and comfortable shoes - you can leave everything else at home. Expect to travel up to 10 miles, and to be outdoors for up to 5 hours.

We will play in rain or shine (if we are lucky, it will rain). Dress for the weather - adrenalin will only keep you so warm.

This year, Journey Chicag0 will be run concurrently with Journey DC. This means that when the whistle blows at Columbus and Jackson in Chicago, a whistle is blowing in DuPont Circle in Washington DC. Players should expect inter-city surprises along the Chicago route.

If you are curious, read the full Game Rules.

Yours,
Journey Chicag0 Planning Committee

:) Yep. Also--anyone with good ideas for intercity surprises (whether or not they'll be able to attend) should drop a note to me and Dax. We're looking for good ways to actually have meaningful, useful interaction between players in different cities. Surprising and interesting are also good.

Dearest Chicag0vians,

At 8:20 AM on Saturday I will be arriving in your fair city, with ten and a half hours to go between then and Journey. After Journey I intend to get a bit of sleep, but then I don't have to leave until 1:30 the next day.

During that time, who wants to task?

I just signed up when I discovered tomorrow´s Journey... I don´t know whether there are other Chicag0vians that have responded, but it´d be great to meet you and any others on Saturday!
