Events / O, Tannenbaum, Valhalla calls you!
When:January 12th, 2008 @ 4:00pm
Where:
Dockweiller Beach
Dockweiller Beach State Park
Enrollment
3/unlimited
Organizer:
Jellybean of Thark
Description:
Do you still have your Christmas Tree up?
Dockweiller Beach, as all you cool kids already know, has plenty of fire pits, suitable for beachy, seaside bonfires.
Weather permitting, this coming Saturday (January 12), we'll be rolling into Dockweiller Beach and giving our Christmas tree a proper send off to Valhalla.
We'd love to have you along. Feel free to bring your tree, any spare cords of firewood you may have, and musical instruments if you have them.
We'll be lowering the Tannenbaum into the fire around sunset.
Call it a salute to Spring, and an up-yours to Winter. Call it a farewell to an era, if you like.

Damn, no Senatorial representation then.
I'm crossing my fingers hoping this event will be postponed due to inclement weather.
Due to my living in New England on the opposite side of the continent i won't be attending, but anything to do with sending anything(one) off to Valhalla merits my approval.
Ah, distances and scheduling conflicts! I don't have a tree, but they've been around SF, and I keep wanting to do this...
I set my year-old-Christmas tree on fire for the New Year, before I knew you were organizing this (boy, was it a beautiful blaze!).
Anyway, I doubt I could have gotten a visa for a dead tree on time. :(
I´ll send incendiary thoughts your way. Sand and the sound of the sea and blazing trees, wow.
Major, feel free to raise a glass to us wherever you are, nonetheless. If you've got a mind to.
Susy, you kept your Christmas tree for a year? That's pretty great. This beach lies directly under the flight path of planes departing LAX. The sound of trees and surf will be mingled with the smell of the sea, and the exhaust of jet planes. Perhaps someone leaving town tomorrow will spot our fire.
Are you saying you hope that my Tannenbonfire gets rained out?
Oh.
Well, you know me. Photeygraphs will be forthcoming.
And magnificent they are. What a great evening, even remotely. Thanks!
P. S. If you want to type an ñ you need a Spanish keyboard

I will, ironically enough, be in San Francisco.
