Holy lord.... I was just telling Bex today that I should include some of my sf0 activity on my transfer application to UC Berkeley. Since I don't really do anything else.... Here's what I imagined writing:
I participate in an NGO that focuses on transcending social norms and mores so as to observe and test anthropological theory of various human behaviors in real time situations. After documenting our experiments with various forms of media, we submit our analysis and final proofs for review by our peers on our online forum. This forum allows for open dialog between all members involved and encourages daily participation by those less active in the organization. Our mission statement is as follows:
sf0 encourages the public to question their attachment to societal stereotypes and thus place themselves in (often) extreme or unique situations so as to test their limits and openness to new perspectives involving human behavior and what is usually considered "normal." Is the life you're living truly genuine, or are you the product of centuries of societal conditioning? Join us and find out!
Obviously, we participate in sf0 to play and enjoy ourselves, it's just dorks like me who see it as an anthropological experiment. You are all just amoebas in the petri dish of sf0, ready and waiting to be hypothsized and experimented upon!
*insert evil scientist laugh*
The rabbit hole of SFØ is a lot deeper than a game should be.
But it is precisely that it is a game that makes it function so well.
Analyze away! It's worth it.
Dax has done it, right? A&U?
I might actually give this one a try. Thanks Susy.
I have actually got a job at my university citing JTTEOTN2 as an example of planning, and a possible activity for others. They seemed to like the idea of letting brand-new uni students run like mad things through the town late at night :)
hm i thought this was created by yellowbear.
