eddy, i'm so in, but I'm not sure where we are going to get paper big enough to build what I imagine to be truely GIANT... how big is arches paper bex?

Because I cannot be part of this construction, here is the advice from Chicagø, via the genius of the Center for Book & Paper:

1) sculpt a biplane, however big, using insulation foam (those big sheets of pink stuff, laminated together, can be carved)
2) cover the thing in plastic wrap
3) make a positive-from-positive cast, a.k.a. paper maché it
4) cut it apart to extract the mold, then reassemble the pieces of the cast

In my understanding, you could make a paper plane as big as your living room by this method
