I like reading these as well. I particularly enjoy seeing which aspect of themselves people focus on, when limited in such a way.
This task is a wonderful combination of easy and excellent.
The guys on NPR (where I got the idea) said that after they announced that they'd be interviewing the people from Smith Magazine about this Hemingway rip-off... they received almost 500 emails in about 20 minutes. I see a pattern here.
This has brightened my weekend considerably. Nice!
I haven't been on once since this task rolled out and not had the first page of the Praxis at least half filled with completions for this. Perhaps a bit too immediately accessible?
evil senatorial ramblings
This is really making the praxis much less interesting. It was fine for a couple days, but its getting old. Now, I feel this is really 'lowering the bar' as far as what a task on the praxis should be.
Imagine a poor helpless ^^&&^&^*%^%^%%%%%%% comes across sf0 and sees a praxis full of this. Maybe he/she/other completes this. after they complete it or finish reading through it, will they have had fun? a good first sf0 experience?
Its time to retire this. but my opinions tend to be unpopular. What does everyone else think?
I agree with Lowteck as well as Someone. If I were in charge I would keep it all the same, easy, 5 points, simple, but a level four task. Let somebody get their feet wet in the waters of SFØ before they attempt something that is so easy sounding that it could be completed in such a trivial manner. But then again, maybe now everybody has done it and it's over with. Some people have come up with very good and clever completions.
I'm unsure about this task.
It's filling the praxis, but it's good for new players to start completing tasks right away.
Perhaps remove this from the last 5 submissions?
I´m with Lowteck.
At least level 2?
What if the Praxis displayed only tasks that have been voted on or Most Votes by default instead of showing them chronologically? It could be seen as the chroanauts(sp) influence on the Praxis.
Fortunetly I am barred from such tasks...
You are unable to work on that task. Either you don't meet the requirements, or you are already working on 10 tasks. You Are Currently Working On: 27/10 tasks
But how could they be voted on, if they are not hitting the praxis page (yet)?
That is chrononautical...
If they appeared on the main praxis page, and on peoples update pages in chronological order, but on the main page they appeared as the 5 most scoring tasks in the last 18 hours.
That might work.
I don't know if I have been to the main page more that six times ever.
You only read your friends´completions?
Pretty much, yeah. And their comments on other's tasks show up on my page. And I seem to not miss out on too much that way. But every once in awhile I'll go and hit the Praxis button, but never do I go to the main page. I just went there now, and while it's cool to see two of my tasks represented, I couldn't see any other reason to be there.
I was kind of hoping the "activity" sort might be an answer to this kind of issue, since new praxis will show up, but will drop pretty quickly if no one finds it comment or vote-worthy.
when i clicked on that 'activity' link, i saw 4 completions of player photograph. a little better than 6 completeions of "part time writer full time waitress", but not by much
So, let me get this straight.
The problem here is that this task is too popular? Too easy? Which? (Popular because it is "easy").
I have to say that several of the completions in this task have been AMAZING... both those that have gotten many votes and those that got few.
I like seeing tasks that EVERYONE feels safe to do. It gives us all a chance to compare notes and see what we all can do with something kind of tough. Some of us tried to pull out some stops, and I think we succeeded. Some of us were just honest, and that was pretty heartening/heart rending. Some of us tried to be clever and made the rest of us smile.
I think the fact that this task is popular is a good thing, that there are so many folks accomplishing something with it is a good thing, and we should celebrate that rather than try to get rid of it just because it makes the praxis list a little longer. "Oh god, the next page button is just too hard to press... I won't have enough energy to lift this potato chip if I push the next page button... oh noes!"
yeah, yeah. ultimately the proof that you're right is the fact that pretty much all of the first ten completions here has at least ten votes
A zero-level complete of this as part of my mission to complete a task a day for the remainder of the everyday life era.
Thought of several different ways to do this, but finally decided that chronologically is the way to go rather than by sentences... kind of a riff on "soldier, sailor, beggerman, theif"
"Dreamer, student, philosopher, teacher, shopkeeper, dreamer."

Why use six when you can use a thousand?

Accomplished nothing meaningful. Yet. Stay Tuned.

I grew weary of my completion. Therefore, I had to go literal. It's original "The Fickle Sky"-esque
I started out with a pretty predictable story: Ragnarok comes. I battle amidst giants. Which happens to be an anagram for: Ransack Ergo Om. Mandala Bittiest Gist Arena Rock Smog Lambasting At Ditties. Angora Rocks Me. Stigmata Bandit Til...

Tried to be fictional. Became real.
I will figure it all out
Fantastic, Obstinate, Resolute: Ben Entices Smith ALTERNATIVELY, my SFØ character's life story: Fumbling, Oppressed, Reserved: Basically, Equivalenz Senator!

The beginner's guide to falling apart.

I wonder what this button... Oops.
Sorry guys, I knew this task would be popular- but I didn't think it would clear out the praxis altogether. Still fun to see how people describe themselves. Yay.
