Let's get analog! Well, it's called Tapes and Tapes, yeah? Strangely, this task took me a while to get done because of that. I wanted to use cassette tapes. Once I got that idea in my head, nuthin' else would really do. Those are pretty hard to ...

I began the task by compiling a list of songs that, over the last 12 months, I either: a.) Like alot. b.) Have important memories attached to them. c.) Lyrically, mean a lot to me. Here is my original list: Incubus - Southern Girl Franz Ferdinand ...

A Note To My Fellow Listeners Please, 1. Moon - Diptera Sit silently. 2. Deathbed - Ash in Pensacola Grandpas 3. Pictures of Success - Rilo Kiley Live your life. 4. Do You Realize? - The Flaming Lips The most uplifting. 5. Existantial...

So I have this playlist.

This playlist is the product of many years of hard work, trial and error, and music collection and it has the incredible power to always, without fail, convert a crappy mood into a good one. It probably wouldn't work for other people but it sure as hell works for me. I try not to use it very often, for fear that magic will wear off with overuse but I was using it the other day and afterwords I thought to myself - "I should go burn this CD and give it away to other people."
Then I thought "I could do it for that tapes and tapes task for SF0."
"No wait, that's retired."
"Eh - I'll do it anyway."
So I did. I packaged my CD's in lined paper with the following message:
HAPPINESS
In Mix CD Form
Instructions
1. Wait until you're feeling down
2. Listen to all the songs in order
TRACKS 1 - 3: Perspective
TRACKS 4 - 6: Optimism
DISCLAIMER
Your Mileage May Vary
On the back I put "FOR YOU" in big letters
and I put SF0.org on the inside.
I finally decorated the CD's a little
The following day I placed the CD's in places where I thought stressed students might find them:
1 In a computer lab
1 In the library
and 1 in another computer lab
P.S. In case you're wondering:
1. Imagine the End of the Word by The Kleptones (Disk 2, Track 10)
2. Overreacting by Brad Sucks
3. The Wonder is All Around US by the RIAA
4. Ana Ng by They Might Be Giants (specifically, the Severe Tire Damage version)
5. What Will Happen Will Happen by Lemon Demon (Couldn't find a good online version of this one, plus his website's down. Whatta ya gonna do?)
6. Fine by Lemon Demon (Ignore the images, that's all I could find)
