As much as I want to participate, the last time I rode my bike in the city I was nearly run over by a bus after clipping a parked car, flipping my bike, and throwing my body underneath said bus. (Sea Change, try not to laugh too hard).

There needs to be much more park riding before I venture back onto those dangerous city streets.

Riding bikes in a pack helps less experienced riders to have a buffer zone of friends between them and the traffic. It's a great way to tour our fine city.

ooooh, you are both temping me... but seriously. i am still bruised from my accident, and had the bus moved, i would be dead...

damn me for not getting a bike sooner! so i could have practiced not falling down a bit longer in preparation for something like this.

(i was wearing a helmet. it did not protect my knees.)

I would love to do this. Is there somebody there in that cold, windy, gloomy haven of fantastic art and spectacle called San Francisco willing to lend a guy a bicycle?

Come on....

I have an astronomy lab on thursday, but if anyone could BART out to Concord/if I can find a gap in my schedule, I will lend Lincoln my 1970's Schwinn Continental, with original green paint.
