It was the best I could find, seeing as all the B&Bs etc. want at least one adult (over 18) in a group.
Do we know the prices of campsites? Or somewhere we can put the tent for free near New Bradwell without people complaining?
Last thing I heard from Haberly was this:
"The main problem with it is that I have no real options for accommodation any more - it's still on, but people will have to find their own place to stay in MK. I would like you - and everyone in UK - here, but now my house is packed to the brim I've kinda run out of options for people staying here..."
The closest campsite I could find was 40 minutes away by road.
Does Haberly have a garden? If so, we can just put the tent up there (if he'll let us).
Hello all, I'm here (briefly) - basically, the problem is that there's no accommodation that I can find around MK for you, and my house has nly a feasible five (5) 'beds' free. I've already offered these out to people, but if anyone pulls out of that I'll say on here ASAP.
Much as I've been on holiday, I've been re-organising this thing so that it works the best possible way for the most possible players. As it stands at the moment, the event has been cut down to the Tuesday and Wednesday, with an Overkill game on the Tuesday and general hanging-around and tasking on the Wednesday, with possibilities including the Podcast and JTTEOTMAMK. People can either leave wednesday evening, or stay over again and go back thursday morning.
And my garden? Ha. Haha. HahahamwahuhaHAHAAA! NO chance. Even before mum attacked it with furious gardening skills you couldn't fit a tent out there, and now you're lucky if you can fit the washing out on the line... Basically, not gonna happen. But yes, the gathering IS going on, and it WILL be good :)
Depending how rides work from London, I'll either be there for the day on the 26th, or the 27th, but not both, and not spending a night. Trying to keep things simple (he said before checking maps and train times).
28th = Dance patch day.
Group dance patching is important.
Please to be delaying departure?
I'm only gonna be there for one day (looking like the 27th). However, if anyone is passing back through London on their way home they can group dance patch there (around 6:15, after the solo venture at 5:30).
Things to bring:
Camera
money
Water Pistols/Water bombs/ Huge muthafuckin' buckets of water and so on
A damn good sense of fun
Remember, ths is an active show and if you are tasking in the first three rows you will get wet.
A voice for SFCastLive.
(and a hat, gotta have hats)
Yes, hats definitely. If nothing else, will make you easier to recognise come sneaky tasks...
I kept quiet about this cause I knew Tom'd get annoyed at me, so I left it till later. But I realy can't go now. I need to be in work all of this week and next week cause they need to finnish my training before it opens. I hope something like this happens again next year, and I can guarentee i'll save the holidays up and book them in time for it.
On the plus side it works out a saving of £90 for train, and hostel, and spending money, and an extra 3 days pay, which is like andother £90. I know that's not much of plus side for anyone else but me, but I hope this goes well enough to have another one next year.
It's all good, Daryl. I'm coming to Great Yarmouth to kidnap you from work next week. 8 days to be precise.
I am officially confirming. Tickets and hostel are booked.
At 3:45pm on the first day I have an appointment at the Apple Store so they can fix my iPod so I will have to leave festivities and make my way there but it's all good.
...Oookay, but you'll be on your own for a bit - everyone else is getting there around 1 or 2 :P
Nuh-uh... the train from Yarmouth with Ben and Adam on it arrives at MK, at 12:01.
Just touched down in London! See you guys tomorrow!
Corrupting the British youth:
OK, Ben... next we bring you to America to teach you the difference between good scotch, bad scotch, good bourbon, bad bourbon, and Jack.
(EDIT: I phrased that badly. The step where you learn to tell good scotch from bad is of course best done in closer proximity to Scotland, naturally.)
That´s the spirit! A properly scotched-up Ben for, what, JTTEOFN2?
What´s the meaning of an orange ribbon, again?
Woah, did I just see a picture of Ben drinking???
(isn't there a task to get GY0 drunk?)
Oh, you guys can all go to hell.
Plus, I quite liked it, (the way it kicks the back of your throat is nice, but I have received expert word on how to avoid that from a certain someone) and the TWO!! sips that I took made me slightly dizzy and nothing more.
Yes. First time properly drinking straight alcohol.
Problem?
I'm sure I can pull of some spontaneous camping if need be.
Or of course, as Jowan suggested, this may come in handy.
