Description:
End of the Era Party, and El Lay Zero meet-up!
Good morning, fellow adventurers. Insatiability will soon speed along the track and sent to it's rest, like particles before Atlas, and a new world will soon upon us be.
Let us celebrate what has come before, and cheer for what comes next.
Dockweiler Beach and it's bonfire pits await us, so bring with you not only your swim trunks, but whatever kindling, memories, effigies, and Christmas trees you may want to send to the next world.
Food will be BYOOETS.
Some of the seaside activities may include, but won't be limited to:
Human Seed
Pirates Vs. Ninjas
Perhaps a little bit of pre-tired, Level Zero adventure in the form of Death Kavaand this little number?
Please feel free to carpool as street parking may be scarce, and parking in the lot carries a fee.
An portable grill would not be unwelcome.
Thank you,
C.M. Gonzalez
Addendum:
If I were a quarter as awesome as Lowteck of the North, I would not be copying the list below, which I have shamelessly ganked from his events page:

I will be late, since I have to work until 2 or so, but I can supply a charcoal grill & charcoal at the very least. Good choice on the beach, I went here pretty much every weekend during May-June-July =)
That is awesome!
In that case, I'll have to bring some grillables.
First, let's define "grillable" as "anything that can possibly, to any degree, be grilled".
Just a reminder that this here party will be a pot luck style thang, and for all systems to be green we'll need to throw in t'gether.
On that note, we can thank Ms. Pamda Bhaer for being generous enough to offer a grill and charcoal. Thanks, Pamda!
If anyone can think of anything else to bring that's not on the list, please let me know.
Thank you, and good night!
Yes, good. Human Seed.
I'll bring one too.
I live off of a meal plan for the most part, so I'll just do some shopping for this event. Does anyone know of things that are nice to have on the beach? Burgers and so forth are strangely improved by the beach, whereas something like corn on the cob can be a hassle in the wind, the sand, and even moreso if you lack clean tables. Does anyone have the real-world experience to compile such a suggested list of beach-foods, that I may cater to it? (Maybe a little simpler than this.)
When I was a young lad and my family went to the beach, we used to take along quite the picnic. However, in my old age I can only remember the apple juice and the Sunchips.
Another tip: summer sausage, crackers, cheese, veggies (i.e. the kinds of things that would go on Lunchables except not terrible). But don't get peppered summer sausage. It's impossible to tell whether what you're looking at is pepper or sand.
Ok, Sausage.
Summer salads?
Lobster rolls?
Complex seafood dish?
Smores?
I don't do this much, and college freshman camping trips are a low-point of cuisine, but I am unsure of how far we are hoping to exceed those standards. First of all, are any of us good cooks, or are we all kind of extrapolating off some baking and grilling knowledge here? CM, Lincoln, I would not be surprised if either of you were serious cooks. Is anyone else noncommittally counted in attendance?
I am by no means a cook of any great caliber.
But I can grill.
I don't know about that complex seafood dish. But the rest looks alright.
I'm going to try to make some pico de gallo and bring some chips.
Someone bring fried chicken, please.
I spent so much time at the beach this summer, and every time before I went, I would picture myself eating fried chicken at the beach (Cheerio, interpret that as you will)--but it just never worked out.
Someone help me live out my dream!
I was thinking of picking up a party-tray from Chin's Hawaiian Teriyaki BBQ, but perhaps I should get some Popeye's instead?
It should be stated that everybody is welcome to this event, not just those who play SFØ. Your friends, neighbors, family and anybody you happen to meet on the street who happens to look neat or interesting.
why do we need a grill? give me some wood and a match :) last time i had a bonfire i came up witht he brilliant idea of portioning the wooda nd everyone once in awhile throwing it in = conserve wood....throwing all the wood = :D...good things to bring are ring pops...i also have a floatable chair i could bring aswell as chairs(if they fit in car which i doubt they will) and i will probably bring couple people. oh, i could also bring us some nice mediteranean stuff. hummus pitas that sort of stuff. hope ot meet you all then!
Ring pops, hey? I haven't had one of those in some time.
Jimmy Boomsticks! You'll be joining us then? That's neat.
Wouldn't miss it for the world.
Unless I have school, because then I suppose I will have to miss it.
Oh dear. I'm sorry to say I will be missing it due to other commitments! :(
I really want to come, and will try to, but I may be late. I also may stink of garbage and seawater... I'm glad this is at the beach.
I can't wait to hear about what might make you stick of garbage and seawater and possibly make you late.
If you move this down ONE saturday, I will love you forever. Otherwise, I can't because I would've JUST moved down there. =(
You can come JUST after you've moved.
If you come, I'll help you with the moving. before or after.
I'm good with the moving. And the helping.
petition sf0 about new era....big points and 2 kudos from me.
so ive been thinking...lets bring back burning witches...itll be the new trend. first victim will fall this saturday in the bonfire, and be eaten.
do we have anyone down for firewood? i remember last time i had a bonfire...we had like NO wood...and then it happened...these people drive up to us "all you can grab wood $5"...they werent joking...their friends flaked and they literally had a pickup truck FILLED with wood...so
I haven't managed to score any firewood myself.
Anyone else had any luck?
Sorry to be a flaky flakerson, but family came up and I won't be able to make it. I will, however, drop off my grill & charcoal with Cheerio so you guys won't be grill-less. I'm really sorry that I won't get the chance to hang with y'all and hopefully there'll be some sort of event like this again soon. In fact, I will plan some sort of event like this again soon. And I will bring my own damn fried chicken.
No sweat, you'll make the next one.
The gummies do not like the new era. They are most displeased to have been demoted from Level 8 to Level 1.
I love being back at Level 1 with everybody else.
New beginning.
Rise like a Tuscon from the ashes!
All are welcome here. If you can read these words, you are invited.
