Description:
Welcome to the Game of Deception. The Grand Mask invites you to play.
You are competing for the Deception Trophy and the title of Deception Champion of the first Game of Deception.
The Game of Deception works like this.
A YES or NO question will be asked. You have 72 hours to submit your answer, either YES or NO, via private message to the Grand Mask. If you fail to answer within the time allotted, you will be removed from the game.
When the 72 hours are up, the votes are tallied, and the majority win that round. Those who belong to the minority are removed from the game. The next question will then be asked. If there is a tie (there is no majority), then nobody is eliminated the game goes on.
Ultimately, two players will be left, and of the two, whoever has the most Money will win the Grand Prize.
What is Money? At the beginning of the game, the Grand Mask gives all players 1000 M. This is the currency of the Game of Deception. Using Money, you can trade absolutely anything. This is important.
All deals using Money must be agreed upon by all players it involves. The exact traded goods or services must be specified in private messages to the Grand Mask by all players involved in the deal.
If a deal is not upheld by a player, that player is fined 1000 M.
Those are the rules of the Game of Deception.
Statistics about the game (such as who is left in the game and how much Money each player has) will be available at http://gameofdeception.co.nr/ when the game begins.
The game begins on the first of December. Join the game by joining this event - you have nothing to lose...
Sincerely,
The Grand Mask

I hereby announce my intent to give only truthful yes/no answers.
(Unless you bribe me. Or I'm lying about that part.)
I hereby announce my promise to give only truthful yes/no answers.
If you aren't bribable, you'll never make any Money.
(But I do plan to tell the truth when not bribed to do otherwise.)
It is very possible that I will not win this game.
It is very likely that I will finish this game with 1000 Money.
It is certain that I will be content with the way I played.
It is assured that I will not be upset or disappointed by my fellow players.
It is also assured that we will find your playstyle quite fascinating, and that the game experience will be enriched by it. (This is how the yes-no questions differ from Waldo's two-tribes model.)
If you aren't bribable, you'll never make any Money.
You could sell actual things for Money...
Towards that end, I am not sure if it matters *at all* what the questions entails, as the game can be played just with an every-72-hour call for allegiances with the blue tribe, or with the red tribe, where the smaller tribe is always destroyed. Then again, your way may be more fun that just trying to second-guess allegiances for a month.
I make no promises and no guarantees
I can only promise that I will hate myself for playing.
If even the local gendermarie are embroiled then the competition promises to be interesting.
I know that unless I lose, I will win, unless I lose.
We prefer the term "gendarmerie" or "gendarmery", as we do no policing of genders, nor do we profile for persons named marie.
Dear C.M.,
Apparently the SFØ Police do police spelling.
Love,
Inky
Answers to questions asked in private messages:
As much as the Grand Mask appreciates sock puppets due to their often mysterious nature, sock puppets will not be allowed entry into the game without special permission.
Also, please note that transactions must take place during the Game of Deception to be a proper in-game trade. The Grand Mask admires the actions of the keen individuals who are preparing themselves well, though.
Finally, the Deception Trophy is indeed a physical trophy.
We have been notified that this is a private event, and that we are unwelcome here. However, if we get any more noise disturbance complaints from your neighbors we will be back.
The Game of Deception has begun.
You may still enter the game during the first round, but you will start the game with 800 M.
well, I'm the only one in at 800M, so it's pretty obvious where my complaint lies. I do wish that had been in the initial rules as opposed to a comment here. But I plan to make do.
Selling 500M for highest bid.
Bidding starts at £5.
The message said prize draw :)
When I drop out of the game, 500 M to a random player who has provided such a video.
I'm reluctant to accept retro-completions, both for fairness sake, and because I want to see more dancing.
More dancing!
I am now accepting M donations. All M donations can be sent to me.
I really doubt that anyone would not be accepting M donations, my friend.
Have something more specific to say?
Round Two begins, with the introduction of Ghost Players and the mysterious M Box.
I would like to purchase a hand drawn picture of a moose. I would be willing to pay 200 M. And the person in question's gotta drawn it themselves - no taking somebody elses picture and passing it off as your own!
Grand Mask, I accept this deal.
JJason, check your media folder.
Given to the player who takes epic to epic proportions.
Looks like fun.
