I want to make it a super memorable birthday so I thought it would be great if I could ask you all a favour and send her birthday cards from all over the world. She'd be confused as hell, but I'm sure she'd love it.

oh that won't matter - her birthday is on Sunday anyway. She always saves them all for the day as she loves opening her cards. If you want you can send it to me and I'll give it her on the day :D

My Mum likes crime books and dragons and napping and flowers and soppy movies and pork chops and gardening.

Is that enough to go on?!

Done and done, off to mail it now... A postcard rather than a birthday card as such I'm afraid...

Just saw this now...

This is a great idea! I'll send something up from Bournemouth in the week.
Not the most distant part of the world, maybe, but it adds to the variety of locations...

The first arrived...

From Japan! I take it Mr Everyday was involved in that...

My Mum called me up and said "Have you sent me a postcard from Japan?"

To which i replied "Mother, have you any idea how ridiculous that question is...?!"

Little does she know... :D

Nice! Sorry it was a bit early... The trouble with the post here is that sometimes it takes 12 days, sometimes it takes 2 (with no apparent way to guess which).

Hope she liked it.

Yay!

It's a lovely idea but... will your mother want her address posted all over the internets?

well obviously it's a bit late to worry about that now.

Also she's loving what she's had so far so. Yes.

And besides which, if someone really wants to harvest you address, there are far easier and more automated ways to do so than trawl SF0...

Mailed from the Las Vegas post office yesterday, one Liberace postcard. He's lighting candles on a piano shaped cake.

So, anyway, I take it that they all arrived in some semblance of order... How did she like the final effect?
