Cowgirls, penguins and space travel at Mehringplatz! Gentrification as gameification! Alternate universes, dancing patrols and adventures in absolutely stunning life-like graphics…
Inspired by festivals such as Come Out & Play (New York), Hide & Seek Weekender (London), and igFest (Bristol), You Are GO! brings to Berlin a postdigital play culture that installs games not in virtual environments but on the platforms of everyday. With smartphones and walkie-talkies, with chalk and ballons, with crazy fictions and bodies in urban space. You Are GO! introduces the most important creaters and the some of best games in this vibrant international scene for the first time in Germany and opens up the dialoge with local players and designers.
During three utopian days in Summer, the theater turns into an HQ for gameplay, from which small and large groups head out onto the surrounding playing fields. Festival highlights are games like „Shadowplay“ from Gigantic Mechanic (New York), „Stag Hunt“ from Hide & Seek (London), „Gentrification“ from Athmosphere Industries (Toronto), „The ONE“ by Catherine Herdlick and Gabe Smedresman (San Francisco), „15.000 Gray“ from machina eX and „Asteroids!“ with the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra.
