Infiltrate the tourist industry in your city.
Pack enough for a night and a day and head to a transportation hub, like an airport, train station or bus stand. Head into the city and rent a room or bed at a hotel or hostel. Stay the night, and the next day, indulge yourself in the tourist activities of your city.
Conglomerate with other tourists as much as possible.
Do not, for any reason whatsoever, reveal that you are a local or anything but a tourist.

In fact, if you manage to infiltrate a very small tourist industry, I say bonus points.
I will have to wait for the tourist season to start first. Nobody exotic seems to like a wintery English island.
I am doing this as a collaboration either way, because I see much more possibility being a group of foreigners, then a single foreigner.
I've done this in my $localtouristmecca, but not in quite some time, and not with the current group of friendsnrelations I'm most likely to task with. I'm in.
