This song came about on a Skype conversation when it was discussed that whether a large window was taking up a huge amount of space on (I think it was) Tom's desktop. Then the term "Wasting Pixels" was tossed about and it was suggested that it was a good song title. Then it all rolled from there.
It tackles the very important issue of a computer geek falling in love with someone he meets over the internet, and whether he can hold his own.
